Coming to Town

The circus comes to Hamilton. It comes in trucks, trailers, buses, and RVs. It sets up at the periphery of town, behind a mall. A village of mobile homes around the big tent.

To get to the circus we pass their movable village with their dishes drying, dogs in windows, satellite dishes, bikes and laundry. The circus announces itself through this traveling town from elsewhere.

It is an intrusion into our middling town. An entertaining virus bringing gypsy life from afar. We pay to peek into this decorated world. We might even wish to run away and join. Or fear the wanderlust.
